The Art of Cacao
The Art of Cacao is an in-person deep dive to support facilitators and practitioners in offering a grounded and informed Cacao experience. We will weave body, spirit, soul and story of Cacao into ceremonial practice while opening to the holistic experience. Held in a mountain guesthouse in Italy, the immersion unfolds over seven unique days, inviting participation in circle and ceremony while opening to the many ways of Cacao. It provides space for applied learning and personal transformation, allowing you to root into trust, grow your capacity and deepen your innerstanding with clarity.
Reset, Regenerate, Remember
Imagine yourself within a circle, anchored in the European medicine wheel, held by the presence of a majestic mountain ridge, informed by water streams that carry consciousness, and gently guarded by plants and devas. Here, within a sacred ritual garden, a cacao altar awaits your arrival, inviting you to remember your place in the living mandala of the heart, a tribe guided by the spirit of cacao. For the third time, we gather for seven days to sing, to pray, and to weave connections with the land, with spirit, and with the sacred essence within. In doing so, we step into embodiment of The Art and Ritual of Cacao.
Ground into the earth, bring flowers to the roots, songs to the sacred heart, incense for the breath of life, blessings to the divine origin. –Serap Kara
Ambas Dham in the Antrona Valley
Amba, a mythical figure from ancient India, wandered restlessly until finding brief peace in a forgotten Himalayan sanctuary (Dham).
Ambas Dham is a family home, living temple, and guesthouse in a once-abandoned 500-year-old mountain village on the southern Alps. With vision and hard work, its residents revived the ruins, creating a warm, sacred space where prayers and rituals have honoured the land’s guardians for over 30 years.
This simple yet magical retreat, nestled among peaks, rivers, and crystal-clear lakes, offers refuge for quiet reflection and fresh perspectives. Located in the most secluded valley of Ossola, Piedmont, it sits along millennia-old trails once part of the Amber Road, leading to Switzerland.
Called a gateway to heaven, the valley holds a hidden energy awaiting discovery. Those who seek inward may find a pulsating life force, where idealistic and spiritual values converge. Moon and earth energies create a protective field, yet to uncover its treasure, one must first meet the guardian of the threshold.
Towering granite peaks embody cosmic wisdom, with Shani—the great teacher—guiding seekers beyond the veil of matter. He offers a bridge to the Otherworld, revealing harmony between shadow and light, and awakening the heart’s inner sun.

Meet your host Serap Kara
My name is Serap, and it is my honour to be your host on this journey. My roots stretch back to Anatolia, to a small village at the eastern tip of Turkey, with Mount Ararat watching over my lineage. I carry a nomadic soul, learning to anchor myself in the consciousness of nature to navigate this Earth as my home.
I walk the path of a medicine woman, educator, and alchemist to midwife a heart-centred consciousness into this now-time. As Moondancer, I follow the feminine red path of collective healing, and carry the medicine of Maza Meztli — the moon deer. My work is shamanic and earth-based in nature, yet informed by the cosmos.
Looking at the past 15 years with Cacao, I gained experience and a new perspective; at the same time I have come to innerstand that I'm on a life-long journey with the medicines of the Earth - there'll be deeper layers to be felt, new horizons to be explored, messages to be delivered, reciprocity to be practiced.
I was initiated and trained by the Cacao Collective; a few years back I allowed the Spiritkeeper to take a seat in my heart-space and my life changed for good. My work is informed by the Celtic Wheel of Life, and medicines and teachers from Central & South America, especially from the Andes, Guatemala and Colombia.
I emerged from a major rite of passage, a Dark Night of the Soul, where my creative fire went off leaving me in darkness to shed identities and beliefs. This experience makes me sensitive to the importance of the creative fire needed to fuel our creations.
In 2024, the sacred mountain at Ambas Dham called me to bring the medicine of Cacao. Together with former students we anchored a Cacao altar on the mountain and ritual place. I wish to offer an immersive practice from a space of relationship, respect and reciprocity to the cosmic intelligence of Cacao while weaving a coherent global perspective.
There’s something truly magical about coming together in this place between worlds - the oracle within awakens offering guidance and inspiration. If you then root into the structuring principles of nature and deepen your relationship to the Self, you can enhance both your self and your offering.
I’d love to open a door to the soul of the Cacao Collective, so you may feel held while sourcing from within to craft a powerful offerings as a reflection of your innate light.

Thank you Tania for your Testimony
"I am so grateful that I have decided to attend the cacao mama ceremony training retreat with Serap, and it has been such a profound experience that is beyond words. I have come with the intention to learn more about serving cacao in ceremony and to deepen my understanding and knowledge about cacao. Serap who is exceptionally knowledgeable, has beautifully delivered on all that and beyond. I love every experience we had in the retreat, and even after the retreat, I could still see powerful shifts unfolding in my life as I'm slowly integrating all the new information and energies into my daily life. I experience a deep remembering of who I am, and I have gained more self-confidence about myself and my path of who I am becoming. Thank you Serap, the beautiful team at Ambas Dham - Bhakti and Bhavani, Mother Nature and sacred cacao. I would definitely recommend Serap's retreat and I hope that I can attend another one of her retreats in the future." - Tania Ho, founder and owner of Museflower Retreat & Spa
